Meet Cody Becker

Cody serves as Special Assistant to King County Executive Girmay Zahilay. In this capacity, he helps manage the Executive's schedule, staffs the Executive at events, and provides operational support to the Executive each day. He also works closely with the office's Policy and Innovation Team where he is building hands-on policy experience and supporting the team's work to advance the Executive's priorities. Cody joined the Executive's office after serving as Deputy Campaign Manager for Zahilay's successful campaign for King County Executive. Previously, he managed King County Councilmember Sarah Perry's campaign and advised the campaign for State Representative Osman Salahuddin.

Cody is a graduate student at Georgetown University's McCourt School of Public Policy, where he is earning his Master of Public Policy. His studies emphasize quantitative methods, domestic and foreign policy analysis, and specialized areas such as defense and economic policy. For his client-based capstone, he consulted for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to identify the factors that motivate eligible lawful permanent residents to naturalize as U.S. citizens. A dedicated community leader, Cody has organized volunteers to canvass thousands of doors across the greater Seattle area, taught martial arts for more than four years, and served as Vice President of his university's student government. He also enjoys hiking across Washington State with his two older brothers and refining his aerial photography skills with his drone.
